Why I’m passionate about ending Inequality: Growing up in a traditional South Asian household, I was taught that my worth was determined by my gender, leaving me to grapple with feelings of inadequacy. Enduring years of abuse, neglect, and violence robbed me of my autonomy and shattered my sense of self. This painful journey ignited a fierce passion within me, reminding me that everyone deserves the freedom to embrace their true identity and pursue the life they wholeheartedly desire
Why I’m passionate about caring for the Planet: At just 11 years old, my life was forever transformed when I read an article about the disappearing ozone layer and the devastation facing our planet. In that moment I was compelled to rally those around me to start recycling and inspiring a lifelong commitment to honor and protect our Earth.
Why I’m passionate about transforming Education: Teachers believed in me and taught me to read despite my dyslexia, nurturing my passion for storytelling and the arts. Without their support, I would never have discovered my true self. However, when I reached university, I fell through the cracks, dropping out just two credits shy of my degree. I've experienced both the triumphs and failures of the education system, and I am fueled by the conviction that the time for transformative change is now
Why I’m passionate about improving Healthcare & Well-Being: For 30 years, my mental health struggles were misdiagnosed by a healthcare system that failed to see me. I spent years on medications that only masked my symptoms, never addressing the root cause, and was even advised to undergo heart surgery for what turned out to be misdiagnosed panic attacks. No one should have to endure decades of unnecessary suffering. This experience fuels my passion for supporting healthcare innovators who are ready to provide the compassionate, transformative care that every individual truly deserves.
Why I’m passionate about working with Changemakers: In 2014, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and given just four months to live. Sitting by her side, I witnessed the many flaws in our medical system. This experience drove me to partner with an incubator in 2022 to explore better ways to support those facing cancer. I am deeply passionate about empowering changemakers, and I’m committed to becoming one myself.
